Drinking from God's Well of Living Water

A Well For Us

God has a well for us. ?A place to drink and find refreshment when we have grown weary in?work. ?Everyday we need to drink from this well of life. Springs and wells have had cultural significance from the earliest days. The well has been the place of sustenance. ?The well of God’s Spirit is a deep well that never runs dry. ?We need to remember what Jesus said to the woman at the well.

John 4:14
?But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into
everlasting life.?

His water is an everlasting drink. ?Spiritually, we are never to thirst again because His life is available to us at all times. ?Jesus paid the price, going to the cross, so that we may enter into the inner courts of heaven to drink of this well of life. ??H2O is the common everyday thing that we must drink in the natural to live. ?There is absolutely no other option for us, because without it we won’t last long. ?Many times God references His blessings and promises for us water is included in the equation. ?Whether it be a waterfall, river, well or spring God knows that we need the power of His life flowing within us.

Release the Well Within

Not only do we need to access this well, we need to release this well. As the people of God, we should be familiar with the waters of life. It should be a common and ordinary thing for us, even though extraordinary in our experience with God. Think about people who do not even know God. They have never experienced the waters of life. God wants them to experience His life. Just like the Samaritan woman at the well, she did drink of that water. When Jesus opened up the innermost secrets of her heart, she knew she had come in contact with the substance of heaven. When she did there was a fresh invigoration in her spirit. She came alive! She ran to go tell everyone she could find. This is the common result of everyone who drinks of the water of life. It is a shot of life into our being.

How to Connect to the Well

God is out to see that everyone gets an opportunity to taste and see that He is good. From some, they have forgotten how to drink of this well of life. Some just need help to know how to do it. In my life, there have been certain things that have helped me to connect every time into His Presence. But I must tell you that the body, soul and spirit are connected. I really believe that if your not taking care of your body that it affects your ability to consistently experience the presence of God. Why? Because I know what it is like to eat the right things and the wrong things. I’ve experienced the day after both kinds of food.

[box type=”shadow”]What You Eat: The best things you can put in your body are water and raw vegetables and fruits. ?Your body just responds better to these things. ? Once my body is in a place where it feels blessed and good, then it is much easier to experience the Holy Spirit tangibly, because my mind and body are on the same page. I’m not a heath nut. ?I like to eat food that tastes good. ?But know what your body needs.

Instrumental Music:? I use instrumentals to create an atmosphere of devotion. ?Use what connects you, bringing you into an experience with God. ?There is no substitute for peaceful music that creates a backdrop, like a canvas, so that you can paint on top of it. Think about it. An artist uses the same blank white canvas every time to paint on top of. ?But every time he breaks out that fresh piece of canvas he will paint something brand new on top. It is a fresh experience every time. ?It is the same in devotion with God.

The Word of God: ?Use the scriptures. It is good to ask the Lord what one word He would have you focus on for the day. ?It gives you a direction and focus. ?Then search the Word of God in that one focus.

Dreams: ?What dream did you have the night before, was God speaking to you in it? ?Sometime until you write it down you don’t know for sure. ?Maybe it did come from the pizza you ate. ?But maybe it actually has some meaning. I usually look for those that have the anointing. ?those are the ones I take the most seriously. The more you pay attention to your dreams, the more God will see it as an avenue to speak to you in.

Pray in the Holy Spirit (Tongues): ?If you pray in tongues, do this more often. ?Paul stated that “he thanked God that he prayed in tongues more than them”. ?The point being is that he did this on a regular basis. ?This is one of my most popular means of connecting with God. ?I highly recommend it! ??If you do not pray in tongues, that is ok. ?But eagerly desire spiritual gifts, seek the Lord to fill you with this prayer language. ?It will escalate your spiritual development. ?When you pray in tongues you actually edify (strengthen) your spirit within.

In all these things, let them connect you with the heart of God. ?He will pour in His water of life and bring you into a fresh place of refreshing and life. ?It is our inheritance to enter intto His presence every time without delay. ?In this very moment you have access through Jesus to enter in to the courts of God.
