Holy Spirit Fire Being Released

God is pouring out a fire of His Spirit on His people who are pursuing Him. It is not a far off thing but very close and easily accessed as our hearts our purified in His Presence. His fire is purifying and it is also empowering like fuel for our spirit.

Laid Down on His Altar
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

We are those living sacrifices that God is igniting with the flames of His Holy Spirit. As we lay down on His altar He will send His fire to complete the sacrifice that is a sweet smelling aroma to His nostrils. Our simple willingness to lay down is the act He is looking for. Laying down agendas, our own desires, our own striving, offenses, and the things that so easily beset us we can then be awaken in our spirit to run the race to which we are called. Both corporate and personal destiny are fulfilled when we lay down on the altar of God as living sacrifices. Our obedience and relationship with God has affect on so many who surround us. I don’t think we really comprehend the magnitude of the effect of our living in surrender to God.? The little choices we make do make such a difference and have a ripple effect across the earth, not only in short time but in the longevity of time.

Like the complexity of links that bring a entire vision together, so it is the smallest of our efforts that culminate into a beautiful big picture of the heart of God manifested in the earth. When His fire is manifested everything is easier. We are consumed by His Presence and in a sense we are literally taken out of the picture. It is His fire and desire that flows through us, we are simply the pipelines of His glory, His pure, perfect burning fire manifests in us individually and corporately bringing forth His purposes in the earth.

Matthew 3:11-12
“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire…”

This last week I was cooking in the kitchen or at least “trying to”! The first time I was just trying to cook some chicken as I did other things. The next thing I know I smelled smoke. I ran back into the kitchen it was completely “toast”. It set off the fire alarm. Smoke everywhere in the house. The next day I was heating some oil in the wok for stir fry. I’ve done this so many times before. As I was facing the other direction I hear a “whooooosh!” Then I turned around and the wok was on fire. I thought it was quite funny. Thankfully we have a high ceiling in our kitchen. Well that set of the fire alarm too! Then the fireman came. Another day Brandi set off the fire alarm. So we had a total of 3 fire alarm instances in one week. That is a record!

All week I had been writing new songs, one of the songs I received was “Burn Jesus Burn”… well I changed the name to “Burn in My Heart”. It’s so funny because I’m thinking to myself, “what a wonderful song, then realized the title just might need to be tweaked. Would not want the title misunderstood – taken the wrong way. I’m sure you understand! Then I’m reading my bible and thought I would read Acts 2. Of course that is all about the fire falling on the day of Pentecost. Saturday now arrives and Brandi tells me, “Hey! Tomorrow is the Day of Pentecost”. I suppose every good Christian should know all the Jewish festivals, seasons and etc. I’m familiar with them but don’t really keep track. It makes it even more fun because I’m getting things prophetically, plan something, then find out what I’ve planned in line with the biblical feasts and etc. But when I found out it was the Day of Pentecost it all made sense what God was speaking. My mind was wondering what is the deal with all this “fire!”

Acts 2:1-4
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.? And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

In conclusion I believe that God is pouring out a fresh anointing of His fire right now, the anointing of the Holy Spirit – as we surrender in worship through praise, thanksgiving and allowing the kindness of God to flow through us He will burn brighter and brighter in us and upon us. When our worship is demonstrated to God with praise and then to other as unto Christ Himself we find the synergistic mix that ignites the heart of God within us. It is much like rubbing the two sticks together that causes a fire to begin. Let’s rub these sticks together in our lives and join these fires as one for His glory!

  1. John,I really appreciate your essays that you have been sending me. I noticed, for the first time, you mentioned a personal experience (fire in the kitchen). I have been finding out that many times, God speaks to us in our ordinary daily experiences. (Well, a kitchen fire may not be very ordinary!) Even so, I am reminded of another ordinary experience.I have to be at work at 5:00 a.m. The past several weeks I been noticing birds singing as I enter the doors. They always seem particulerly loud, welcoming the coming of the sun. Maybe it is because there hardly any other noise to drown them out, that early in the morning. One cold rainy raw day, as I was running from the car to get inside, I had to stop. The birds were singing just as loud as any other day! I think that God spoke to me at that moment… Birds sing because that is what they do. God gave them that ability, so they sing. It is just that simple!

In a similar way, we worship because God gave us that ability. In the beginning I had to consciously remember why I worship in order to worship. As I pondered on His attributes (Everlasting Goodness, Pure Loving Kindness, Radical Mercy, etc,) then I would fall into worship. Now, I find myself simply worshiping Him, because that is what I do. (Not that I stopped filling my days thinking of Him!) It’s just that simple!
