From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Psalms 61:2
God is taking us up to a higher place. The invitation is always there for every one of us. All we have to do is respond to Him. It is never about what we do, but about who we are. When we come into the revelation of who we are we cannot do anything but reach higher, go further, believe bigger and live in the adventure that God has laid out for us. The Kingdom of God is vast. There is no limitation to how He is willing to use us. If we are willing to position ourselves in Him, put ourselves in a place of communion with His Spirit with a heart that leans on the Lord there is no way that we can go astray.
The question is what is valuable to us. How much do we value the things of God rather than the things of this world? How radical are we willing to be, how big are we willing to dream or are we just going to sit in our little comfort zones of pleasing people? Most are content with not ruffling the feathers of the “know it alls”.
But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts.
1 Thessalonians 2:4
I’ve found that I would rather ruffle the feathers, than to have no wings to fly. God has called us to fly and to fly high. God calls us to dreams that are bigger than our capability to fulfill them. Without faith it is impossible to please God, because He who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Heb. 11:6) It requires no faith at all to sit, soak and sour. God calls us into a divine engagement with His Kingdom to be releasers of His life in the earth.
Delight In The High Places
It takes work and dedication to climb to a high place. Our commitment to Him is our dedication. Our trust in Him is our work. (John 6:29) Our lives are living sacrifices. There is a price that we pay to climb to a high place. Once you get to a high place you will find that there are not as many people around. Misery loves company and there are few people who will push you into your destiny. Most people would rather keep you on their level of mediocrity. God calls us to be a challenge to those who would compromise to stay away from the high places in Him.
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Habakkuk 3:18-19
The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
When we are in a high place in our lives there is the coinciding need to drink of His Spirit. One time I had a dream that I was in a very high place, so much so that I was looking into the clouds. I had a shot glass of some kind of drink in my hand and I took it! Because I was so high up in this place I did not want to look down so I needed some divine relief. God knew I needed it. (Eph. 5:18) So it is when we are in a place of needing to be completely dependent upon the Lord.
Wings As Eagles
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
It is in the high places that we fly like the eagle. When we live in true dependency on the Lord God gives us wings like eagles to soar. The position of the eagle is authority and dominion, seeing and power. The eagles rule the air seeing all things in clear view with the power to bring things under their dominion. Jesus has called us to be eagles, prophetic, those who see in the Spirit and have the power to execute His charge. Determine today that you will be one of those who will climb up to the higher places with God. Hear His call for your life to be like an eagle living in dependency upon Him and walking in your God given authority.
