God loves us with a limitless love pursuing us that we might be the people of His right hand. I’ve had an undercurrent of thought over the last couple of weeks. The thought has occurred several times, but only now have I put it down in black and white. I believe we are in a season of “the eye of the needle”. Just as Jesus said, “It is impossible for a rich man to see the Kingdom of God, it is like a camel going through the eye of a needle.”
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved” “But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Matt. 19:23-26
Notice how “Jesus looked at them”. It is as if in this He was looking them straight in the eye saying, “This is very much possible, for all men must learn that they can do nothing apart from God.” So it is in this season. I believe the Lord is calling many to cross into a new place in Him. It is portrayed in this parable. There is of necessity going to be a need to remove the excess. Many should be familiar with this parable. Just for refreshing sake, it has been described that when a camel had to go through the eye of a needle, it was a passageway where all the stuff had to be removed off of the camel to get through. This is a picture of where we are and where we are going. This is a time of removal, removing the excess so that we may pass through, cross over into a new level, a new place in God’s best for our lives. This has applications in natural for many. Stuff and things don’t account for much in the Kingdom of God. We need to treasure the things of God, measuring them with a much greater importance than earthly things. This is a time of showing this in our actions. On the other side of the needle there is unprecedented blessing, increase and overflow in both the natural and the spirit.
Then the Lord answered me and said:
Habakkuk 2:2
“Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it.”
This is not the kind of thing where we don’t know where we are headed and are just unloading stuff with no vision or foresight, but rather have vision, being willing to become lean to move into the new day through faith – venturing into the full light of His desires. This will look different for every person.
About 2 months ago the Lord showed me 2 dark clouds on the horizon coming towards this nation. These clouds represented economic difficulties. The first was notable, but the second was much greater and the one to be reckoned with. In this I was told “this 2nd cloud is the one to pay attention to.” In other words, the first cloud was nothing compared to what was coming. The first cloud we had already experienced. The latter cloud was yet to come. This should come as no surprise to us. Jesus made it clear that in the end times difficulties and worldwide turmoil would arise (Matt. 24). People all around the world already live in some of the worst scenarios.
It will not be long before we move into the stage of the second cloud coming over this nation. God is wanting to move us into the place of His shadow and protection. For many, there may need to be a re-positioning. We must always remember that the darkest times are where God’s light shines the brightest. This is our time to “arise and shine”.
Arise, shine;
Isaiah 60:1-3
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.
It is a time of great joy and expectation, as it always should be when we are plugged into God’s circuit. God’s grace is sufficient no matter what the circumstance. There is going to be an openness to the power of the gospel like we’ve not experienced in our history. Where there is desperation and hunger God shows up! Allow the Lord to speak to you on whether there is a way to become lighter in the things that you are carrying in this season. For there is a crossing over for the people of God into a greater glory and promise just ahead!
