There’s nothing wrong with patterns in our seeking God. Patterns can be beautiful. That’s when a pattern just becomes a ritual and God is not in it that it becomes ugly and more like a machine. Their natural patterns that have beauty and flexibility and change, just like the seasons on the Earth. Then there are mechanical patterns that hurt others. God wants to put patterns in our lives that are filled with life and beauty in His presence. God loves faithfulness, and faithfulness requires us to walk a certain direction—the same direction—in our pursuit of God. Though our pursuit may look different day to day, if our hearts are toward Him 24/7, it’s a beautiful pattern.
