God is Seeking Seekers

But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Deuteronomy 4:29

God is continually inviting us to come up higher, to go deeper and to pursue Him more. With every promise that God gives there is a pursuit that is required. With the price that we are willing to pay, He will reward us with the same measure. He is not looking for perfect vessels, but rather pursuing vessels that will not let go until they are blessed. In this process He is pulling for an awakening within us and to see what we value the most. In a world with many options will God be treated as just another option in our lives

Fasting

Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions
The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him. So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.

Ezra 8:21,23

How would you like the hand of God upon your life? His hand is a sign of His blessing. Just as this passage of scripture says, the hand of God is upon those who seek Him. God wants to put His hand on your life. He wants to bless your life. He wants to give you a favor and blow your mind! Ezra proclaimed a corporate fast that they may humble themselves before God and to seek the Lord. Seeking God and fasting are very close cousins. When we are desirous of the hand of God in our lives, fasting is a key that opens the doors of heaven over our lives. As we humble ourselves He lifts us up, draws close and gives favor.

Commit Your Cause to God

But as for me, I would seek God, And to God I would commit my cause…

Job 5:8

Do you know that you have a cause, a purpose and a reason for being here on this planetYou are not here to simply fill the space, but to have an impact for the Kingdom of God. As we turn our focus heavenward we find meaning that is bigger than ourselves. Seek the Lord committing your purpose and cause to Him.

Sometimes we are looking for more definition, a blueprint for our lives that only God can give. As you seek the Lord, ask for His blueprints, definition and clarity for your life. Do you realize that God has a blueprint for every life? That is amazing! He really does have specific plans for each of us. Do you want God’s Kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven? God wants it even more and wants to manifest it through your life. When you get God’s blueprints for your life the eyes of your faith are opened to set your course toward manifestation and realization of those plans. Have you ever had a big dream from God? Did it seem too big to attain? The reason for this is that He is BIG. He does not know how to think small. God gives dreams as invitations to pursue Him to see those promises fulfilled.

Let God in Your Thoughts

The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts.

Psalm 10:4

Have you ever wondered how to define a wicked person? All that is required to be wicked is to be devoid of God in your thoughts with no desire to seek Him. You don’t have to murder, steal or commit any other act other than just have an absence of God in your thoughts. That defines a wicked person. To be righteous in living is to continually have God in your thoughts, to seek Him and know His ways. Our lives should be saturated with His thoughts, His plans and His desires. God is looking for codependent people. He does not want us co-dependent on anyone but Him. When we are dependent upon Him it produces a life that is continually in pursuit of Him.

The Eyes of the Lord

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.

2 Chronicles 16:9

One time I had a dream where I saw a spotlight coming down from the clouds of heaven. It was much like you would see if it were a helicopter reaching for someone. This spotlight was searching this mountain for someone who was seeking Him. As it continued to search it landed on someone who was on their knees seeking God on the mountain.

God’s eyes are searching for those who will find value in seeking Him, who will pay the price, who value Him enough to make a sacrifice for His glory. When the eye of God is upon you there is favor, there is the hand of God. God’s eyes never stop roaming the earth looking for someone where He can show Himself strong. They never stop! The question is on our end. Are we really seeking God? There are lots of options that we’ve grown used to, especially in this day and age. Some would rather do this or do that. There are lots of things to do but who will place value on seeking God?

Once I had a vision of someone who had little statues upon the shelf. There were various little idols on there and Jesus was just one of many. When God is not in our thoughts and we find other things to do rather than seek Him He just becomes another little idol among the rest. Those idols can be lots of different things but the key is to seek Him first.We need to come up to the mountain of God and seek His face. He is the Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Early Will I Seek You

O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty landWhere there is no water.
So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,To see Your power and Your glory.

Psalm 63:1-2

Seek Him early! When is it early? You decide. Early in the day, early at night. Just seek the Lord. God really wants to take us into a constant communion with Him by His Spirit. Yet, there are different levels of engagement in prayer. There are times we can have higher levels of focus and pursuit. Make sure to engage in those times.

David had a hunger and thirst for God. He also was able to recognize that it was a dry and thirsty land. Can you tell when things are dry and there is no water Because if we are not able to recognize when it actually is dry then we won’t see the need to pursue God for the waters of His Presence. Much like the frog in the water that gets used to the temperature and does not notice when it has changed and dies, so many cannot tell the difference.

We see that David was looking in the sanctuary to see His power and glory. He knew when it was there and when it was not. But he also knew he had a desperate need for His glory to manifest. It was not good enough to be without it.

God is looking for faithfulness. He is the Seeker of those who seek Him. When we stand before Him He will not say, Well done, good and perfect servant. He will say, Well done, good and faithful servant. Our faithfulness is not found in all the good and busy things of life, but in our pursuit of Him. It is in seeking God that we find our identity, find our blueprints and are launched into purposes.Make the choice to find your highest pleasure in seeking the Lord today.
