Hunger and Dependency

Matthew 5:6?Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.?

Hunger and dependency are needed elements in our walk with God.?His strength is made perfect in our weakness. One of the keys for us to live in God?s Presence is to realize that we are completely dependent upon Him, realizing our need of Him. Our need for Him is great. From the beginning, we were never created to live independent of the Lord. He had always intended us to live completely connected to Him. This is why is all the more important for us to ?hunger and thirst? for righteousness. He is our source of righteousness. Just as Jesus said, we must seek first the Kingdom of God and ?His righteousness?. We can draw from this not only the need to seek God, but to seek Him with an understanding of our desperate need for His righteousness incorporated in and through our lives. Our faith is not passive, but active and pursuing.

  • His Strength Made Perfect?(2 Corinthians 12:9)
  • Spiritual Hunger?(Psalm 130:5-6- My Soul Waits)
  • Righteousness?(Galatians 3:12 ? In Christ)

We can have complete confidence in His righteousness. It is not that we are pursuing God from an angle to achieve, but rather from the viewpoint of seeing and experiencing that which has already been accomplished in Christ.

God is good,

John
