Jesus Died That We Might Live

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Revelation 3:20

Invite the Lord into Your Life

If you have not invited Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior, to come into your life, then this is the time to do it. He is not holding your sins against you. He is longing for the opportunity to grant you forgiveness for your sins. All of us have done things wrong in this life. We have all been born under the curse of sin. It goes back to the Garden of Eden.

God Gives Freedom of Choice

Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Genesis 2:15-17

God did not create us to be robots. He did not want us to be controlled by our decisions. This is not His way. He gives us the freedom of choice to choose Him. It has been this way from the beginning. In the Garden of Eden He provided an option, a forbidden option. But God knows that if love is to come from the heart it has to be a choice and a sacrifice made by the individual, not controlled. Therefore He provided the option with a command and a warning saying,”you shall not eat, for in the day you eat of it you shall surely die. . . ”

The Lie, the Deception and Man’s Attempt to Cover Himself

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ” Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

Genesis 3:1-7

Believing a lie always leads to sin. Man sold out to the lie and entered into spiritual death. Immediately they knew that they were not clothed. The man and woman had now realized that the glory that God covered them with was now gone. They had sold out for knowledge, doing their own desires and becoming their own lords. They had forsaken God as their Lord and had gone their own way  the way of self. As it was then, so it is today. So this is the curse that all mankind has been born into.

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned

Romans 5:12-13

Reunited to God

But the good news is that we can be reunited with God. God is not condemning you. He is inviting you to a life of grace, love, peace and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. It is nothing you can earn by good works. God is at a completely different level than man. We cannot even begin to do anything good enough to earn His love and forgiveness. But because of Jesus Christ we can be forgiven and come to know Him deeply in the heart by His Holy Spirit living within us.

But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.

Romans 5:15

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

A Debt Owed and A Price Paid

Jesus Christ came, the Son of God, lived a sinless life. He died on a cross. It was a death the He did not deserve. But He went through the suffering on the cross because He loved us that much. He was raised from the dead and is seated at the right hand of God.

He showed us what love is all about. He did not choose His own way. But chose to pay the penalty for our sin to bring us back to God. There was a debt that we owed, but only a sinless person could pay that price. Jesus Christ came to pay that price so that we could have our lives restored to God and live in God’s Presence once again.

Come to Believe, Know and Experience His Love & Forgiveness

“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:8-10

I ask You to forgive me and cleanse me from all sin and wickedness. I ask you to empower me to follow you. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit I welcome You to fill me. Come and fill me with your power, love, peace, grace and forgiveness. Give me a new heart that loves You. Change me, transform me and make me like Jesus Christ. I am dependent on You to help me. Thank You God!
In Jesus Name. AMEN.
