Looking Forward To It!

Most of us have heard the phrase, I’m looking forward to it! This being a positive affirmation of something coming that we have a joyful expectation of. God wants us to have a joyful, faith-filled expectation of the good things that He has in store. If we are living after His heart, then we will want to get in on His plans.

God has some great plans that are happening now and are in store in our future. Here are just a few points that will help keep your focus on God’s plans:

Vision Looks Forward

Vision looks forward, always forward. It does not see behind. No one is fit for the Kingdom of Heaven who looks back. When you are holding the plow you must move forward, looking forward.

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Luke 9:62

Remove Distractions

A key to keep moving forward is to remove distractions. Distractions are those things that will try to pull your attention elsewhere. Our meditation is very important. Many times our meditation begins with the eyes. We must live by the eyes of our heart, with our meditation on His words and revealed truth. This will help us to stay focused on the Fathers business.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Philippians 4:8-9

New Things Await

New things await those who learn to keep their focus. Just as if you were to take your focus off the road when driving, you will eventually run off course. Your blessing may be down the road, but because you lose focus you will miss your divine appointment.

Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.

Isaiah 43:18-19

Pressing Prayer

When we press in with prayer we engage our entire being into the prayer process. With spirit, soul and body we engage ourselves to the Lord in prayer. This is some of the most effective prayers because it is not half-hearted. It is “fervent prayer”. God created us in such a way that when our whole heart and being functions together we have the greatest result.

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.

Philippians 3:12

No Sweat

If you feel like you have veered of course, no sweat. Get back on course! It is not difficult. God is not short on appointments and resources. Yes, there are windows of opportunity we don’t want to miss. Still God works all things together for our good and will restore it all as we press into His purposes.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28

“Now” is the Time

Know that God is present now. Faith is now. God wants us to be engaged in His activity right now. Keep your focus looking forward knowing that God has good things prepared for you right now. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Let your faith rise in the present enjoying the time and purposes God has laid before you today.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6

Lift your voice to worship. Now really is the time to worship! Allow the Spirit to fill you as you worship the Lord.

Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all day long, And in Your righteousness they are exalted.

Psalms 89:15-16
