He makes my feet like the feet of deer,
2 Samuel 22:34
And sets me on my high places.
God calls us to the high places of His Presence. Scripture says that He gives us the ability to traverse to these high places by making our feet like the feet of a deer. He teaches and trains our feet to be skillful to know how to ascend the mountains set before us that we may go to the highest of heights. I recently had a dream about the city, Akron, OH. The meaning of Akron is extremity, peak or highest point and is a city between 2 rivers. The original Greek lexicon defines Akron this way: the farthest bounds, uttermost parts, end, highest, extreme of the earth of heaven. Don’t you want the very best God has for you His thoughts are higher than our thoughts and His ways are higher than our ways. Everything about God is higher. In the Book of Revelation the Spirit says, Come Up Here! He wants us there so that He may show us things. In the high places we have a view that is not available anywhere else. This is why we are seated with Christ in the heavenly places. This is the place of authority and strength where we have a view unhindered by all other activity. Again, the word Akron means the highest point of heaven. Scripture describes Jesus as bringing our High Priest who is higher than the heavens.
For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens.
Hebrews 7:26
A result of God taking us to a higher place is that we are delivered from a fear of heights. God wants us in the highest places of His love where fear is cast down.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
1 John 4:18
When we are made perfect in His love all fear has to go. God is looking for His perfect love to be manifested in us where all fear is gone. What a great deliverance to be fearless! Jesus had such a perfect love that caused Him to walk in a place that was absolutely free of fear, worry and doubt. This is the cocoon of His Presence where a pure faith in God and His Word is created in our hearts.
When you think of those who climb mountains, when they get to the top they lift up their hands in victorious celebration. That is the picture. Through our determination and diligence we take on the mountain, making it to the highest point, experiencing the victory God has for us. Some mountains are higher than others, but God wants us to know the life of victory where we are above only and not beneath.
