Praying Through The Knots

Many times we receive understanding in specific areas that are fresh revelations that approach the same subject from a different angle. You will see someone approaching the very same subject but from a completely different perspective with the same result or solution. So here is an angle the Lord has given to me on the subject of intercession.

I received this experience in my life dealing in the area of intercession and prayer. It was viewing our difficulties, challenges, fears, doubts, difficult relationships and even just the grieving experiences that we can only sense in our spirit man as knots that must be prayed through to victory. There are challenges that we all face. These are also tests that the Lord sets before us to bring us to a new level of divine entrustment of His power and grace. What is amazing is that the very same One who tests us prays that we will pass the test, because He ever lives to make intercession for the saints.

There are some items that we need to understand before intercession can be truly effective and victory is realized. I believe that this is something that many intercessory people can miss as they approach tests and challenges through prayer and intercession.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6-7

There is a 3-fold progression to untie the knot:

Hope

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Hebrews 10:23-24

Faith

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

2 Corinthians 5:7-8

Prayer/Intercession

Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Hebrews 7:25-26

Think of someone you think is hopeless. If you can think of someone, then you have just found a knot to pray through! Think of something in your life that is hopeless. If you have, you have just found another knot to pray through! We need to realize here that there is a hopeless mind-set. That is the first barrier that must be broken through to realize the next step.

The cure for the hopeless mindset is to realize that as long as you or any other person is still living in this world  there IS hope! If whatever challenges you seem hopeless, you must realize that there is NOTHING hopeless in this world, at this time (except for the devil who is destined for perdition). Since Christ is risen and living to intercede there is always hope. You are the ambassador of Christ to see that living hope manifested in the world, in your life and to others.

This is the first barrier, the first knot to pray through. Because if you cannot see hope  you will not have faith or believe. You cannot have faith for anyone or anything that is hopeless. And we know that anything that is not of faith is sin. We know that if anyone doubts he should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. But we must remember that Jesus said if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, nothing shall be impossible for you. So He made faith as small for us as He possibly could! So that we could easily enter into the rest of faith mentioned in Hebrews, which is in the context of ending our labors and entering into His! So hope is the door to enter into a life of faith.

If you have hope, you will have faith! And if you can believe  all things are possible to him who believes! So once hope is established, you then have a foundation to stand on with assurance. You can know that God is faithful and He will perform His will and desires. Now that hope and faith are established the power of prayer is ready to be released! You can pray with knowing and fervency. You can pray through the knots that pop up when you think of something or someone. These can manifest as negative emotions, doubt or something that grieves your spirit and the Holy Spirit. These are not to be left alone, but prayed through to the release.

When I say the release, I’m speaking of having a genuine release of peace in your own spirit about that person, obstacle or thing. It may come up again at a certain time even if you have had an initial release. These would be the promptings of the Spirit. When you do this you will see that this will span from the own personal issues you deal with to the issues of others. But there can be victory in the depths of your spirit in all of these areas. So pray through the knots, they are there for the purpose of intercession. But keep the solid foundation of hope and faith that works through love. Love for God, love for even yourself who is created in the image of God and love for others. And you can only love others as much as you love yourself. And as you see the love of God for you, you will see who you are in Him and love that and love others with that same love. Love never fails. And His love through your intercession will unravel every knot!
