Do you remember the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well?
Jesus said to her, ?Go, call your husband, and come here.?
John 4:16-18
The woman answered, ?I have no husband.?
Jesus said to her, ?You are right in saying, ?I have no husband,? for you have had five husbands, and he whom you now have is not your husband. So you have spoken truthfully.?
Jesus used the word of knowledge to open up a conversation with the woman.
Words of knowledge related to someone’s past or present. Prophetic insight has to do with someone’s future.
The Samaritan woman became the first evangelist to win an entire city for Christ – all from a word of knowledge.
Years ago I was at the Christian section of a bookstore and scared to share the word of knowledge I was receiving for the woman next to me.
I negotiated with God and committed to sharing the word if she was still there after looking at everything else I came for in the store. Of course the woman didn’t move.
After negotiating with God some more, I finally shared with the woman and she immediately fell on the ground crying.
If I didn’t get over my fear of rejection, I wouldn’t have been able to participate with God to see her receive the encouragement she was seeking.
Today, make a point to step out in faith and share words of knowledge. God is cheering you on!
