The Holy Place

Luke 10:39-42
“But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
The Holy Place
How precious is the Holy Place with God in our lives? How easily distracted are we to so quickly leave that place before God. When we are in the middle of communion with God do we allow things to easily pull us away from that place? Martha was distracted with much serving and many things to do. Because of this she becomes the vehicle that the devil used to try to pull Mary out of that secret place with God. Can you see it? The Lord was physically there to correct Martha and defend Mary?s position before Him. We must now see Him doing that with us as we are spending that time before Him. The Lord loves it when we just want to sit at His feet and hear His words. These are those holy times that we have before Him. It is not for us to allow anything to distract us from this place.
Psalm 27:4
“One thing I have desired of the LORD,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD,
And to inquire in His temple.”
There must be an honor given to the Lord when we are in this place of holy communication with Him. Just like you would not allow anyone to cut off your conversation that you are having with someone else. There is a wholly necessary need to honor our communication with the Lord, not to be distracted into other things and miss the good words that He eagerly desires to speak to us. This world is full of distractions and noise that tries to clog our hearing of the voice of the Lord. So it is essential that we make room for Him continually.
Isaiah 32:17-18
“The work of righteousness will be peace,
And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.
18 My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation,
In secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.”
Always take time to quiet things down. Don?t get into a busybody ministry mindset. God is not hyped up about what you are going to do for Him. Although He is expectant about what He can do through you when you lay your life down at His feet spending time with Him. This means allowing Him to fill us up with His Spirit, wisdom and revelation. Busyness does not equal productivity. The most productive place is on your face before Him! Constant connectivity is what He is after. Every day is new and we must start off fresh each day with Him. Then we maintain that connection throughout the day. It is a life of devotion. The simplicity of devotion to Jesus Christ is maintained by continually drawing from the wells of salvation.
2 Corinthians 11:3
“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”
A symptom of a deprived time with the Lord is that a person is troubled and worried about many things. The things of this world are choking the words of God out of that person. They are choking the time with God out of that person. Jesus says, ?Don?t worry?. But a worry-free life won?t become a reality for anyone who does not spend quality time with the Lord experiencing the grace of being truly one of those who ?abides? in Him.
John 15:3-8
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”
It is the abiding in Him that makes the difference. Apart from Him we can do nothing. It is the dwelling and abiding that produces the worry-free life. It is when we find that our life is hidden with God in Christ that the things of this world lose hold on us. When we can turn our minds heavenward and desire the things of heaven, being more conscious of the things of heaven, then we can move into a place of faith and expectancy of good. God is good. If our earthly fathers give good gifts then how much more will He give the best gifts to us? Faith is a full expectancy of God?s goodness to be manifest in our lives and in the earth. Without faith it is impossible to please Him. So becoming a person of His Presence is primary to walk in a place that brings Him pleasure. Time in His Presence cannot be taken from you. The eternal reward is there being place in your spirit and being stored up for you in heaven. Make a commitment to spend that time with Him in full devotion to His heart.
