Living in the presence of God is all about resting and receiving. At the end of the day, there is nothing better than a nice, soft pillow to lay your head on. The Lord has a pillow for us.
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30
There is a rest that all of us can enter into. Jesus wants this rest for us more than we want it for ourselves. It is all about enter into the inner courts of the Lord with His words before us and worship pouring forth from our hearts. There is a place that Lord wants to take us which is far away from the busyness of our lives. He desires to shift the gears of our hearts. There is the beat of God?s heart that our hearts need to synchronize with. The Lord knows how to get our heart’s in sync with His. It all starts with our choosing to be with Him. Just by setting aside time to enjoy God! Imagine that. The Lord just wants us to learn how to enjoy Him through the day. He is not a hard taskmaster. He is constantly calling us just to come closer to Him. Draw close to Him.
One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.
Psalm 27:4
The Lord loves us to lay down in His Presence. I had a dream. In the midst of a beautiful garden, on a wonderful clear blue sky day a goose flew down in front of me. There was such ?awe” as it approached me. It came walking toward me, then eventually into my arms. I held it close in amazement then a song echoed in the garden: “Come to me, I will give you refuge and peace. Come to me and lie down.” It came with beautiful melody and such a wonderful spirit of gentleness. I believe this is what the Lord wants to do for His children. As He has said in the scriptures, “Come unto me, all you who are burdened and I will give you rest.” This is the rest of the Lord, to end our laborsand enter in to His. God desires to grace us with His Presence. The only effort it involves on our part is making the time for Him. The provision of Jesus’ blood has made the way for us to enter in at any time. The rest of God is the rest of faith. It is time to enter in to the rest of His Presence.
