Rest is one of the most powerful things that we can walk in and experience in the Kingdom of God.
God has ordained us for His rest. We know that Jesus is seated at the right hand of God in a “rested” position. Rest is a place that has no worry, no fear or anxiousness. It is a state of complete peace that rules over all that is contrary to the fullness of life in Christ – just as Jesus rules as the Prince of Peace in our lives.
Rest is one of the most powerful things that we can walk in and experience in the Kingdom of God.
God wants us to make every effort to enter into the rest that comes through faith in Him. As we believe His promises we are “resting” on His promises as well. This causes us to “enter in” to His rest. It is not enough to hear God’s promises – we need to believe them.
One thing that we very helpful to me when I first started my walk with God was to understand that I could choose to “believe”.
One thing that we very helpful to me when I first started my walk with God was to understand that I could choose to “believe”. Believing is not this very out of reach spiritual thing, but something very simple – childlike.
Our words and actions play a central part in our faith. I became much more careful with my words knowing I would reap the fruit of what I was saying. My actions has to change as well. Not as much in regards of what “not to do” but rather in seeking God.
Understanding God’s Word, changing our desires, our actions and what we say is all part of our overall transformation. Believing is really a choice, also being expressed by what we say.
Our tongue is like the rudder of a ship. It guides us to the destination of our choice.
Our tongue is like the rudder of a ship. It guides us to the destination of our choice. If we want to believe we do need to hear God’s truth- as faith comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God. In addition, we need to confess with our tongue what we believe – what God has said concerning our lives, where He wants to go and what He wants us to believe for.
Without faith it is impossible to please God and also impossible to enter His rest. Faith in our hearts enables the peace of the Spirit to abide within us. Here we experience the fullness of His rest in our lives.
You cannot complain and give God thanks at the same time.
If we begin to complain, get critical and disgruntled we lose a heart of thanksgiving which is crucial to living a life of faith. One of the biggest keys I learned early on is to “rejoice in the Lord always”. It is not sometimes, but always. You cannot complain and give God thanks at the same time. Be glad. It is a choice.
If you know God you have the biggest thing to be thankful for!
