Time is in constant movement. We are making history as we speak, because time just passed. We must be purposeful as we step into our next moments. How will they best be spent? How can they be maximized?
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
Philippians 3:13-15
In my own life God has made me a good forgetter. Most people would not look at this as a positive attribute for life, but it is! There are things we need to remember, but there are things we need to forget. God helps us to remember the things that are important and forget the stuff that is a hindrance holding us and others back. God always wants us to move forward. No matter what you have done, where you have been and how bad things may look, God is pushing us to move forward. If there is something about your life that keeps you from moving forward then God wants you to lay that aside and enter into kingdom life.
This does not mean that we don’t take responsibility for our actions. We absolutely must. Tie up whatever loose ends you may have, get reconciled in relationships where it applies and do your diligence. But after you have done all that, move on. Move into the future with a positive expectation of good because God is for you, not against you. He who gave His very best for you to enter into His Kingdom is not giving up on you. There may be others that give no hope for your life, but God does and He is the majority. Grab hold of God. If He is for you, then who can be against you? Forget those things that are behind and get divine focus for an intentional entrance into kingdom living. You are not here on the planet to just take up space.
Move Forward with His Presence
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:1-3
To effectively step into the future we must do it with His Presence and anointing. There is no effectiveness without His anointing upon our lives. We move forward with the Presence of God. Moses told the Lord that He would not go without His Presence. We must have that same resolve. Spend time with God. Seek first the Kingdom of God. Soaking in His Presence yields great dividends. Place Him as number one. Usually when we make mistakes or get in trouble it is because somewhere we failed to do this. Learn how to treasure His Presence and anointing on your life knowing that without it you are destined to fail.
Visions of the Heart
What is in your heart to do? After having spent time with God, seeing His face, what passion naturally occurs inside of you? What vision does He give you? When we spend time with God many times He will drop things in our hearts that are simply visions of what He would have us do. Pay attention to what He shows you. What is He calling YOU to do? Don’t be a cookie-cut of someone else. Find your identity as you spend time in His Presence. Be the original that He has made you to be. Follow the visions that God drops in your heart. Many may not understand, but when we follow God-given visions He unlocks treasures inside us where we discover His joy and pleasure.
Step into your future with intention and purpose. Every moment is an opportunity. Some are seemingly small, while others can seem big. Every step you take into your future is important. Be a good steward of the time that God has given to you. Be diligent. Your life is valuable. Spend it wisely stepping into your future.
