The God Who Restores

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17

It is the heart of God to bring restoration to all people. In the simplest way the gift of salvation in Jesus is an act of God’s desire to restore us to Him. It is the turning of our hearts back to the Source of all things. In this we see God’s original intent, even to have unbroken fellowship with the pinnacle of His creation as we are created in the image of God.

When Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden (which is defined as the Garden of Pleasures) God immediately spoke of the day of restoration where the serpent’s head would be crushed and the heel would be bruised. This spoke of the redemptive act of restoration where Jesus would lay down His life on the cross.

God restores us to a place that even supersedes the place that Adam and Even had before the fall.  We are now seated with Christ in heavenly places. In Him we have been made new creations with a new nature created after God in true righteousness and holiness. Because of this we are not trying to be restored – we are restored!

Today, look at yourself from God’s perspective. He sees the work of His Son perfected in you.  You are not trying to get something from God because He has already given His fulness to you in Christ. He has restored us to a place to experience the pleasures of heaven on earth by His Spirit.

Welcome the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to fill you today with His Presence. Say, “Holy Spirit fill me with Your love, Your peace and Your joy as I yield my heart to you!”
